The dishwasher plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, ensuring proper operation and maintaining food safety standards. They are responsible for efficiently cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans used during food preparation and service. Dishwashers also help maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and support other team members as needed to facilitate a well-organized culinary environment. Importantly, dishwashers don't receive tips, but they are essential members of the kitchen team.

Responsibilities:

  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans quickly and efficiently using commercial dishwashing equipment.
  • Ensure that all items are cleaned and sanitized to meet food safety standards.
  • Stack and store clean dishes and utensils in designated areas for easy access by kitchen staff.
  • Assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting work surfaces.
  • Regularly empty trash and recycling cans to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Support kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation tasks as needed during periods of high demand.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure an efficient workflow.
  • Adhere to all safety and health guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning products.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while performing their tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently in a high-pressure environment.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the kitchen team.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is beneficial.
  • Timely and reliable support is essential.
Compensation: $13.00 per hour
